Choosing the correct mains frequency for your Hunter SIMPLEconnect fan
Hunter SIMPLEconnect WIFI fans work on a 2.4 GHz network.
To ensure the best setup experience with your WiFi-enabled Hunter SIMPLEConnect fan, please follow these steps:
- If your home WIFI connection has 2 networks, please make sure to use 2.4GHz network.
- If you're having trouble connecting your fan and aren't sure if it has 5GHz on, please consult your internet provider's documentation.
- Once you have verified that your home network is on 2.4 GHz, please proceed to set up the fan.
Why 2.4 vs. 5.0?
The main differences between the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequencies is the range (coverage) and bandwidth (speed) that the frequencies provide. The 2.4 GHz band provides coverage in a greater range but transmits information at a slower speed. The 5 GHz band provides less coverage, but transmits information faster.
Hunter SIMPLEconnect fans operate on the 2.4 GHz band because the low frequencies are easier to penetrate solid objects, which means the signal can be better distributed throughout your home.
